Lone Wolf Scholarship
In memory of Cheryl Rigler
2024 Lone Wolf Recipient
Rylan Heil
“For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.” ~ Rudyard Kipling
A lone wolf is weak. He needs a pack. He needs the support, comfort and guidance of the group to support him. In today’s world, there are a lot of Lone Wolves. Now more than ever, families are broken. And the next generation faces the difficult task to rise up and chart a new course for their future.
We are seeking to come alongside student athletes in the sport of football at Glacier High School who have persevered to overcome adversity (i.e. a single parent home, death in the family, drugs), emerged stronger and are determined to make a better a life for themselves. Students must submit the application form and accompanying documentation, including the essay. The scholarship is in the amount of $1,000 (minimum). The recipient of this scholarship will have demonstrated that although they have encountered hardship, they have persevered and committed themselves to becoming successful in all facets of their lives.
Who was Cheryl Rigler?
She was an incredible mother who supported her children to overcome adversity. She poured herself into being a mother and enabled her son to beat the odds, as a single parent, and use athletics (football specifically) to craft a new life. She left us in September of 2017, but her memory lives on in her children, and now this scholarship.
